Wisdom in the Weeds: Now Available!

New Book Announcement!

It has been a long wait with many twists and turns, but I guess that is to be expected when releasing a book about wisdom. From my editor being placed on a jury to me taking on a new full-time job during the process, we have traversed many roads to get to this day. To be fair, this book has been a work in progress for years, and I am happy to have it in print.

Wisdom in the Weeds is now available on Amazon or at any local bookstore [they will have to order it for you, but they can].

Wisdom in the Weeds is a journey of self-discovery through unrealized pain and reconciliation, revealing perspective into hidden places of the human heart. Each essay exposes common traumas consistently avoided by giving our mind’s eye the ability to see beyond the surface with encouragement to let hard seasons work for you, not against you.

Just as weeds fill gardens without invitation and reside in unlikely places, like the tiniest cracks in the sidewalk, weeds of life move in as fast as summer storms. Painful situations are inevitable. Gems can be found among the rubble, but without intentionality, the treasure remains unearthed. Finding wisdom in the weeds is the gift from our struggles that helps cultivate resilience.

Hope is my desire for you as you encounter the words poured out in this collection of essays. Hope is the anchor of the soul. It kept me upright when the waves of life were crashing all around, and it continues to keep me standing firm as scary moments of life continue to unfold. For those of you who are in a desperate season, borrowed hope is still hope. Do not be afraid to lean on someone else’s hope until you have the strength to cultivate your own. We heal in the context of community, so don’t be afraid to reach out for help.

I hope you find a place to rest and belong within the lines on each page. If you feel hopeless, I trust you will hold on to the wisdom revealed in the following life lessons excavated from the rubble of shattered dreams and hard seasons. If all else fails, play the long game and look for wisdom in the weeds.
