Book Announcement and Launch Team Opportunity

In November of 2021, Broken Vessels was released into the world. It was exciting and nauseating all at once. There is a strange vulnerability in putting your words out for others to encounter. It is like presenting your baby to the world and hoping they see the same beauty you do.

Over the past year, I have been invited to share space with groups who have taken a chance on the book’s content. What a privilege to be invited into such sacred spaces, to hear people tell the truth and be changed by the Word, and to encourage others to tell their stories.

While the work of Broken Vessels continues, I am excited to announce that my next book, Wisdom in the Weeds, will be released this summer! Wisdom in the Weeds is a collection of essays documenting life lessons excavated from ordinary moments along the journey. Life is plain hard. If you have lived for any amount of time, you know this. You have experienced this. We can focus on the losses, or we can search for the lesson and extract the wisdom to guide us in the next chapter.

I am nervous-excited to release this book into the world. There is a tension between thinking the writing is good and wondering what in the world I was even thinking. Why would anyone want to read this is the monster that creeps into quite crevices of the mind of a creative! The imposter syndrome is real. Ask anyone who has presented a book, song lyrics, a painting, or poem into the world.

We will assemble a small Wisdom in the Weeds launch team, so if you love helping writers get their work in front of others, if you are willing to post on your social media channels, and if you love to read, you should apply to be on the team! Upcoming Events

I have the privilege of sharing at two upcoming retreats, and I would love to extend you an invitation to both. The first is a one-day retreat in Spring Branch, Texas and the other is a weekend retreat in Comfort, Texas. Both are happening in April!

Unhindered: Embracing Surrender to Walk in Freedom is sponsored by the Sowkind Nonprofit. As you know, this is the nonprofit we created to continue the work of the #sowkind movement we started several years ago. The venue offers attendees a lovely backdrop to exercise turning kindness inward to experience healing and personal growth.

Reflect, Reveal, Receive, Redeem is a retreat designed specifically for women. We’ll spend the weekend digging into God’s Word in order to remove the masks and labels we wear, and find our true identities in Christ.  We will Reflect back on the labels that were placed on us by others, and Reveal the masks we wear that prevent us from walking in the fullness of Christ.  When we Receive Truth, then those painful things from our pasts can be Redeemed by Christ, and used to help not only ourselves, but others as well.
