One night, while curled up on the couch, my husband entered the room talking about an email he opened. He used words that sounded ill-fitting and unfamiliar. Devotional. Two more contributions.
He noted the confusion on my face and invited me to come read the email myself. The next several moments unfolded in slow-motion. My head was spinning and I struggled to absorb the words my eyes read. To be honest, I thought maybe it was a joke, or some sort of strange spam.
The subject line said: The next book by (in)courage!
Then, within the body of the email, I read the following sentences. We would so love to publish a story you wrote for the (in)courage website awhile back. There are also a couple of stories from your blog we’d love to publish!
I sat at my husband’s desk dumbfounded and so honored to be invited. Published!
I accepted the invitation and immediately got to work crafting a couple of original pieces that would also be included.
